This small park enjoys a spectacular setting beside the Rift Valley escarpment. With its extremely scenic sunrise or sundown, Manyara is really special and of course, the most unique park in Tanzania when it comes to scenery.

Its greener dominant forest sets it apart from the other parks in Tanzania which are dominated by savannah vegetation. It is Famous for its unusual tree-climbing lions, as well as elephants, buffalo and flamingos.

Popularly referred to as an ornithologist’s paradise, Lake Manyara National Park contains over 400 bird species found in most savanna and river habitats in East Africa.

Common water birds to be seen here are pelicans, spoonbills, Egyptian geese, hammer kops and the migratory flamingoes, which arrive in hundreds of thousands creating one of Africa’s great natural sights over the soda lake
